On Monday, August 31, 2009, Michael Bryant, former Ontario Attorney-General and political golden boy, was charged with criminal negligence causing death and dangerous driving following the death of Darcy Allan Sheppard, a bicycle courier with whom he had an altercation along a tony stretch of Toronto’s Bloor Street.
Mr. Sheppard was seen clinging to Mr. Bryant’s car and died from head injuries after he fell off.
Since then, an old debate has been reignited about bicycles and cars on Toronto streets …
